Advertising Campaigns

Website Advertising Campaigns include front page slideshows, banner advertising, Google’s AdSense and AdWords, and can also include print advertising to promote your website. To effectively promote your own website, you may opt to trade links with other non-competiting business partners. To increase page rank and target specific market segments, you may wish to place ad banners on popular websites that will send traffic directly to your site. It is important to know how many impressions each ad receives per day or week, and a click through rate which will tell you how many of those ad impressions are being converted to page views on your site.

Front Page Slideshows

One popular addition to many websites homepages is a front page slideshow, which can contain between 3 and 8 individual slides that link to the most important parts of your site. These slides are usually front and center when someone visits your website, so you will want to make sure the images are high-quality, and relevant to the subject matter. Slider images are usually tagged with SEO friendly text that can help with your search engine rankings.

Banner Advertising

In the beginning stages of a website’s life cycle, it may be beneficial to place ads on other websites in order to increase page rank, which is a measure of how many other sites link back to yours. Depending on the site content and the expected traffic, you may also wish to create ad space in the header or sidebar of your website template to sell ads down the road as the website builds traffic and interest. Ads can be setup to rotate each time you refresh the page, with a group of ads assigned to a particular piece of screen real estate.
